Made famous by Sally Rand in the 1930s, these gorgeous fans made from luxurious ostrich feathers are synonymous with burlesque dancing. Ms Rand first wowed audiences at the Paramount Club, Chicago and later raised eyebrows by dancing 'nude' in the World's Fair in 1933.
Fan dance lessons in Melbourne are held at Bottoms Up Burlesque & Pole school.
